“I offer my respectful obeisances unto His Divine Grace Tamala Krishna Goswami, who is situated at the feet of Lord Viṣṇu, and who is very dear to Lord Kṛṣṇa on this earth, having taken shelter at His lotus feet.”
His Divine Grace Tamala Krishna Goswami has been undoubtedly a very dear personality to Prabhuji. His disciples called him “Srila Gurudeva,” and among his spiritual brothers, he was known as “Goswami.” His Holiness was born in New York, USA, in June, 1946. He became a very close disciple of His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada in 1968. In 1972, he accepted the renounced order of life, or sannyas, and dedicated his life to serving his guru maharaja within the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), the organization that Srila Prabhupada founded. He lived his life totally absorbed in service to his spiritual master and Krishna. He left his body in March 2002, in Phulgya, West Bengal, India. Prabhuji sought the guidance of His Holiness Tamal Krishna Goswami after reading his book Servant of the Servant and listening to his lectures. When Prabhuji managed to contact him, he asked to be accepted as a shiksha disciple. The master visited the Bhaktivedanta Mission in 1996, and in front of a large number of Prabhuji’s disciples, he accepted Prabhuji as his shiksha disciple. His Holiness Sri Srimad Tamal Krishna Goswami gave Prabhuji valuable guidance and instruction in Krishna Consciousness. His teachings have had an essential influence on Prabhuji’s life.
