Envy

Apr 14, 2025

“Friends, you should know that envy does not arise because someone wants something you have. It arises when your progress exposes the inaction, the mediocrity, the incapacity of those around you. It does not bother your dreams, only your progress. Those who prefer to justify their stagnation cannot bear to see that you dared, they do not forgive your audacity.
The envious do not aspire to what you have achieved. They hope that you will not achieve it either, because your success highlights their renunciation. That is why they attack, criticize, discredit or ridicule. They do not do it from reason, they do it from resentment. It is the reaction of those who feel like losers without having fought.
Anyone who achieves something worthwhile should understand a simple truth: winners not only inspire, they also make people uncomfortable. Success always attracts two types of attention: those who admire and learn from it, and those who hate it without understanding it. Inevitably, the achiever is followed by a large group of admirers who feel inspired and a smaller group of envious people. You can’t avoid it, nor should you try. You didn’t come to please everyone, you came to grow. And growing makes those who stayed in the same place uncomfortable.
Be happy without guilt. Work in silence if necessary, but never stop for fear of making people uncomfortable. Authentic joy provokes rejection in those who do not dare to seek their own. Don’t let that stop you.
Move forward with determination. Walk with dignity. And let your life speak louder than any criticism.”
