Surrender

May 24, 2025

“Genuine contact with existence, a true encounter with life, is only possible when all forms of resistance cease. Only total surrender allows for such an encounter. As long as there is ”someone” who clings, who attaches, who calculates, or who defends, ultimate reality remains hidden. This is not a partial renunciation, nor is it a technique aimed at personal development.
Authentic surrender implies the complete cessation of the “I” that desires, the ‘I’ that fears, the “I” that conceives itself as the center of experience. It is essential to distinguish between surrender and commitment. Surrender belongs to the defeated, the vanquished; commitment belongs to the lover.
The former arises from failure and loss, the latter from passion. While surrender implies submission to a force considered superior—like someone who accepts an external imposition after being overcome—surrender is a free and unreserved affirmation, motivated by devotion without object. There is no weakness in surrender, but rather a silent affirmation of a radical openness to what is.
Just as water reaches its boiling point only at one hundred degrees, the ego dissolves only when surrender has been absolute. Any attempt to retain a portion of control, any effort to protect a residual identity, prevents this evaporation. When there is no longer any intention to understand, to modify, or to possess, the self loses its illusory consistency. What remains is a boundless, silent, clear, transparent space. This is not a void understood as emptiness, but a formless expanse with no center or edge. This silence is not the result of discipline or effort. It is what remains when all struggle has ceased. It cannot be produced or forced: it reveals itself when the self has dissolved. And in that uninterrupted state, existence manifests itself. Not as an object facing a subject, but as an indivisible unity in which heaven and earth recognize each other. This union is not a metaphor or a symbolic construction, but a radical transformation in the very structure of perception: separation disappears, boundaries vanish, and what was once a self is now simple presence.
To be human is to inhabit time, narrative, constructed identity. To be soul is to free oneself from all narrative, to breathe without history, to look without mediation, to be without intention. And that only happens when everything has been surrendered. There is no enlightenment for those who still desire it, no awakening for those who dream of it, no eternity for those who have not abandoned their obsession with permanence. Surrender is not passivity or evasion. It is the highest expression of courage, of bravery: renouncing all pretensions to control, to understand, or to conquer. It is opening oneself unconditionally to what is, without fear, without defense, without expectation. And in that abandonment, far from losing what is essential, what has never been absent is revealed: that silent consciousness, without form or name, where, for an endless instant, heaven and earth embrace.

Abandon all forms of religious duty and take refuge exclusively in Me. I will free you from all the consequences of sin. Do not be afraid.
