Backing it up with actions

Apr 7, 2025

“Many want to succeed, but give up at the first hurdle. Success dazzles, until you discover its price: to stand out is to expose yourself to judgment, criticism and envy.
We know that talking is easy. What is really difficult is to live coherently, to back up with actions what others only repeat in words. Because examples do not need to be announced. They are noticed, they are transmitted. And of course, many will be by your side… as long as you don’t make them feel uncomfortable. But as soon as you start to advance, some will want you to stop. Success, strange as it may seem, is often more uncomfortable than it is inspiring. Some will be more hurt by your progress than by their own limitations. They will remember your mistakes, point out your failures, all so they don’t have to look at what they haven’t done. But the time will come when your actions will speak louder than any criticism. And then they will have to accept that it was you who took the step.
Having a clear purpose does not mean being at peace all the time. It means learning to live with conflict without losing your way. Because when meaning is present, things fall into place. Not from the outside, from within. There are days to be in the center and days to step aside. And no, life is not evaluated halfway through. It is only understood when you reach the end. Adversity, although annoying, awakens parts of you that comfort leaves dormant. What makes you uncomfortable moves you. What challenges you changes you. Even error, when faced with courage, teaches more than that prudence that only paralyzes. Sometimes, taking risks is not an option: it is the only way to be true to yourself. Recognition should not be the goal. The important thing is to fully embrace the role you have been given. Whether great or discreet, all roles deserve dignity. The problem is not making mistakes. It is resigning oneself to less out of fear. Mediocrity does not come all at once. It creeps in little by little in our gestures, in our day-to-day decisions. That is why aspiring to more is not vanity. It is a form of respect. Because your environment affects you. And what is repeated in everyday life ends up being a way of life.
It is not about excluding anyone. It is about taking care of what you are building. Choosing carefully who you share your time with is not contempt, it is protection. Because identity is also shaped by the presence of others.
And no, it’s not about pleasing others. It’s about not getting lost. In a world that rewards the predictable and celebrates the comfortable, staying true when everything invites you to give in… that is an achievement in itself. And if your path is authentic, what you say about yourself will be worth more than any opinion from others.”
